The benifits of debt consolidation

March 2nd, 2009 by admin

Debt Consolidation For people in a tight financial situation, debt consolidation may be the most ideal salutation. It can provide some immediate relief from the burdens of debt and high interest loans. However, debt consolidation should be carefully considered and a financial professional should be consulted with. To consolidate debt means to combine two or more high interest rate loans or debts into one loan with a lower interest. Since all of a person’s debts are now on one loan, they have more financial flexibility since they’ll only have to make one lower payment each month. Before choosing to consolidate your debt, do some research to find the best option. Calculate the final numbers to make sure the new loan saves you money in the long run. You may want to contact a financial consultant if you are having difficulty determining if a loan program is right for you. The obvious and best way to get rid of debt is to make your payments and get into better financial practices so you don’t accumulate debt in the future. Debt consolidation is a helpful tactic that can provide you with some immediate financial relief, but should be used with care.

Requirements for a claim to go to court

March 2nd, 2009 by admin

In order for a hospital medical negligence claim to go to court you need to prove the following:
1. A legal duty was owed to the patient.
2. That duty was breached, or simply the expected standard of care was not met.
3. That breach caused injury (keep in mind that injury can be defined widely).
4. Damages were accrued. That last part is important as without damages being accrued there is no basis for the lawsuit even if negligence occurred. It is unfortunate, but these four things happen all the time. So often, in fact, that doctors and other healthcare workers cannot get a job without having malpractice insurance. They go to work expecting to be sued eventually. They are even held to standards not seen in other tort cases. For example in the case of suicide a regular person can be found negligent for a suicide but cannot be held liable for damages that occur after the act (they can say you caused the person to commit suicide, but you don’t have to pay for the salary they won’t get the rest of their naturally expected lifetime). This isn’t the case for physicians, and most commonly psychiatrists. For some reason they can be held liable for damages that occur after the act. This means that costs skyrocket quickly. So quickly that many states have capped the amount a person can be awarded in such a case leading to fewer court cases because it isn’t worthwhile for a lawyer to take the case on. It’s a system spiralling out of control. So many errors leading to injury that lead to court cases that lead to increased costs, that lead to fewer and less experienced doctors available, that lead to even more errors in an overworked, understaffed, and inexperienced industry.

Affected by computer viruses

March 2nd, 2009 by admin

Back when I got my first computer, there was no need to protect your computer from the outside world. You had your little dial-up modem, an e-mail account and a lot of frustration because the websites took a half hour to load. I hadn’t even heard of antivirus software until I got hacked for the first time and they dispatched a police officer to my home to tell me that people were spying on me through my computer. Then I got really paranoid because not only were people hacking into computers, but also they were sending out e-mails pretending to be a friend, with pictures to download that were also viruses. Despite my efforts I still had worms and Trojan horses and all those lovely computer viruses you hear about in the news. It seemed no matter what antivirus program I used, the hackers and viruses were always ten steps ahead. Nowadays what I hate most of all is adware or spyware that was introduced into my computer mainly through music downloading programs. Now they are attached to many “free” programs like games or music players, so I don’t even bother with those anymore. I have two firewalls, one for D-link and the other that came with the antivirus program I currently use. I have adware and spyware removers too. Even with all the precautions I bet I’d still find a virus or two if I looked closely enough.

Evolution of DVI

March 2nd, 2009 by admin

The evolution of DVI cables has made lives far easier when people watch movies. The shielding technology used has continually made more and more advances as the years have gone on. At this time it is quite fair to say that these cables are easy to install and very easy to use in general. The old days of continual interference from every manner of device near to your equipment is over with this innovative and exceptional product. Dvi technology is a total necessity in our ever crowded world of multiple electronic systems in close proximity to each other. I have long thought that all cables should be replaced regularly to prevent interference, but dvi cables keep this troublesome problem to a bare minimum. I am such a fan of these simple yet so very complex devices that I will not use any other form of cable whenever possible. I can hardly imagine what lies in store with the next generation of these little guys.

The Dangers of Asbestos

March 2nd, 2009 by admin

Asbestos consists of fibres, when these fibres become really small they become light and become airborne. These airborne fibres can be very dangerous. Asbestos causes tumours in people, when asbestos is inhaled for long period of times, it can severely damage the internal workings of your body. Other dangers include asbestos warts; this happens when the airborne fibres lodge inside your skin causing warts these can be quite painful. Some asbestos fibres that are inhaled can get lodged in your lungs, this fibres are harmless at first but continuous inhaling can cause more to lodge in your lungs and then the fibres can expand causing lung impairment, this is know as diffuse pleural thickening and can cause lung impairment. It is important to make sure that if you live in an industrial area you are not close to any asbestos, as it’s the constant exposure of asbestos that will cause disease. There have been many cases that have revealed that asbestos causes cancer, studies have shown that there is a correlation between asbestos and people and animals that have mesothelioma , mesothelioma happens after exposure to asbestos, the malignant cells develop in the lining in your body that is used to protect your internal organs. These then become cancerous and can be fatal. This has led to many people seeking asbestos compensation from companies which exposed them to it

Compensation can’t help with the loss of a loved one

My father owned a restaurant for 30+ years. My father was a very dedicated man and never missed a day of work when it came to his business. In the mid eighties, his restaurant was scheduled for asbestos cleaning in the middle of the night because the restaurant obviously had to close in order to do this type of cleaning. My father stayed with the workers all night while they did their job because he basically did not trust anyone to be in his restaurant without him. In November of 2007, my father was diagnosed with mesothelioma and after he was diagnosed, he recalled how he was not protected during the time the workers had cleaned the restaurant twenty years back. My father passed away nine months later in August of 2008. My family has hired a law firm to handle this case and as of this date, most of his medical bills are being paid by the company that owned the mall at the time of the asbestos exposure but no monies have been awarded to the family for the loss of our father. Asbestos compentation would in no way help with the loss of my father but we feel it is something due to us.
